    Why does it take so long for my water to get hot?

    The cold water in the lines has to be purged before the hot water is allowed to flow through. This can be fixed by having a circulation system installed.

    What is a circulation system?

    A circulation system is a pump on the hot water heater that constantly moves the hot water, keeping the lines hot.

    What is the difference between hard and soft water?

    Hard water has minerals in it and soft water has had the minerals removed. A water filtration system is economical and can remove minerals from hard water.

    Why is my water bill so high?

    There could be a leak in one of the toilets or a water leak in yard. I recommend looking at the water meter to check if it is spinning and then dye testing the toilets.

    Why does my toilet flush on its own?

    Most likely the flapper needs to be replaced.

    What's the tapping sound when my toilet shuts off?

    There could be several reasons for this. The most common is a failed shower cartridge and the tapping sound is caused by the balancing spool.

    Do I really need water filtration?

    If you have city water, I recommend some kind of carbon filtration for the whole house. Most city water has pool level chlorine in it.

    How long does a tank water heater last?

    8 - 10 years on average. However, there are a lot of variables that affect this.

    What is the lifespan of a tankless water heater?

    They are good up to 15 years, after that they start to require lots of maintenance. Tankless water heaters will last as long as you can get parts for them.

    Where is the main water shut off?

    They are usually located by the water heater. If it's not there, you will have to go out to the water meter. If you have a well, you will need to turn off the pump's power.
